Day 1: Arrival Day
Following your Delta/KLM flight, your tour guide will meet you at Kilimanjaro International Airport and drive you to your lodgings for the night in Arusha. You will be in good hands from the time you arrive until the time you depart because our guides are native Tanzanians and have an unmatched familiarity with the nation.
Day 2 - 3: Eastern Serengeti
Fly to a private wildlife sanctuary in the eastern Serengeti for a brief, picturesque flight. Identify rare species on hikes with your guide and a local wildlife scout, and teach the kids how to tell animal tracks apart. Pay attention as a Maasai storyteller tells tales from her culture. Take an exciting night drive to discover nocturnal wildlife in the moonlight.
Day 4 - 6 : Serengeti National Park
Go to the famous Serengeti, where granite kopjes and acacia trees dot the grassy swaths. Face-to-face encounters with Tanzania’s most impressive wildlife, including big cats, can be had. The Great Migration of wildebeest and zebras, one of nature’s most dramatic events, can also enthrall the entire family.
Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro Crater, which is only 10 miles across, was created when a volcano burst. You might be able to see all five of the Big 5 in one afternoon because it now has the densest predator population in all of Africa and is a self-sustaining ecosystem. You can access the Crater’s wildlife-rich floor first thing in the morning by camping on its rim.
Day 8 - 9 : Explore Ngorongoro
At Gibb’s Farm, the top African safari lodge according to Travel + Leisure, explore the lush hills of the highlands. A working coffee estate for 80 years, Gibb’s offers farm-to-table dining, opulent rooms with private verandas, and optional spa services. Give the kids the option to attend youth soccer games, go to their schools, and meet their pen pals.
Day 10: Departure
You’ll have a farewell lunch at Arusha Coffee Lodge, so proceed to Arusha. Unwind in a day room before your return flight.
