Day 1: Arrival in Dar es Salaam
Upon arrival at Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam, you will be warmly welcomed to Tanzania. A transfer will take you to your hotel, allowing you to check-in and rest after your journey. Take this time to acclimate to your new surroundings and prepare for the adventure that awaits you.
Day 2: Dar es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve
After a delicious breakfast, the journey begins towards the Selous Game Reserve, Africa’s largest game reserve and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The reserve’s diverse wildlife and stunning landscapes await you. Upon reaching your lodge, you’ll have the opportunity for an afternoon game drive, where you may encounter elephants, lions, giraffes, and many other fascinating creatures.
Day 3: Selous Game Reserve
Today is dedicated to experiencing the wonders of the Selous Game Reserve. Embark on thrilling game drives to spot the rich wildlife in the area, and consider adding a boat safari on the Rufiji River to your day’s activities. This river is home to an array of hippos, crocodiles, and various bird species, providing a unique perspective on the reserve’s ecosystems
Day 4: Selous Game Reserve to Mikumi National Park
Leaving Selous Game Reserve behind, you’ll head to Mikumi National Park, a hidden gem with an abundance of wildlife. Arrive at your lodge, settle in, and enjoy a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, set out on a game drive in Mikumi, where you may encounter lions, buffaloes, and a variety of antelope species.
Day 5: Mikumi National Park to Ruaha National Park
Today’s journey takes you to Ruaha National Park, one of Tanzania’s largest and most remote parks. As you arrive at your lodge, you’ll be captivated by the surrounding wilderness. Take some time to relax and soak in the natural beauty. In the late afternoon, embark on a game drive to discover the diverse wildlife that calls Ruaha home.
Day 6: Ruaha National Park
The entire day is dedicated to exploring the vast landscapes and remarkable wildlife of Ruaha National Park. Set out on thrilling game drives to encounter the park’s resident predators, such as lions and leopards, as well as herds of elephants and zebras that roam the plains. Be prepared to be awe-struck by the park’s raw and untouched beauty.
Day 7: Ruaha National Park to Zanzibar (Stone Town)
Bid farewell to the wilderness as you fly from Ruaha National Park to the enchanting island of Zanzibar. Your destination is Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed old town with a rich history and mesmerizing architecture. Explore the narrow winding alleys, historical landmarks, and vibrant markets that make Stone Town a cultural and historical treasure.
Day 8-10: Zanzibar (Beach stay)
It’s time to switch gears and embrace relaxation on the idyllic beaches of Zanzibar. Transfer to a beautiful beach resort on the island’s eastern or northern coast and unwind in paradise. Spend the next three days indulging in the sun, sand, and sea, with the option to enjoy various water sports or immerse yourself in a spice tour or visit to a local village to learn about Zanzibar’s rich culture.
Day 11: Departure
On your final day, enjoy your last moments on the stunning Zanzibar beaches, taking in the beauty of the Indian Ocean. After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Zanzibar’s airport for your departure flight, carrying unforgettable memories of Tanzania’s Southern Circuit and the blissful beach holiday on Zanzibar.
